Healthy to the Kore, Inc. is a 501 (3) (C) nonprofit organization that takes a heartfelt interest in enriching the lives of those children and parents of Kidde Kare A’Kademie and the Kenosha, Wisconsin area. In 2011 Holly Tuttle, second generation owner of Kiddie Kare A’Kademie, set out with fellow teachers and parents to create a non-profit that focused on creating healthy children and community.
Healthy to the Kore consists of four pillars; nutrition, exercise, technology and community outreach through charity initiatives. Our mission is to successfully impact every child and adult we come in contact with during this journey. Our goal is to inspire others with the importance of being content with themselves Mind, Body and Spirit. We provide assistance to them in achieving their personal goals through a healthy lifestyle of exercise and nutritious meals, all the while having fun and keeping it simple.
Exercise
Healthy to the Kore believes that developing a child’s behavior and patterns at the age of two will create life long habits. Healthy to the Kore’s exercise objectives are three fold:
1) Getting the child excited about exercise – which has already been included in our daily schedule at Kiddie Kare A’Kademie
2) Once they get excited – they will entice their parents to exercise with them
3) City wide campaign on fitness and exercise
Prosperity and Charity
Our prosperity and charity program focuses on exploring the most immediate needs in the community. We build relationships with other organizations who help those in need and begin partnerships so our impact on the community is even stronger. One strategy is reaching out to local businesses, small and corporate, asking for their help through donations to assist in making our events and initiatives successful. Some examples of this effort includes clothing, food and school supply drives for children, and seasonal events to bring the community together for a positive, healthy, fun and uplifting experience.
Nutrition
Healthy to the Kore recognizes the busy-ness of parents in our society today. Drive thrus and quick fixes have infiltrated our lifestyle. Healthy to the Kore is working with Kiddie Kare A’Kademie in developing easy, nutritious planned meals that the parent can retrieve on our website or their iPhone. To support our endeavors in our family’s lifestyle, we include nutrition values and shopping lists (Zip Lists) for each recipe.
* Healthy Meals with no guess work = more Family Time.
* Recipes, mini-newsletters, tips and checklists sent via texts through our last but not least pillar…
Technology
Studies and experience show the technical abilities of a child begin at the age of 18 months. Healthy to the Kore is developing interactive educational software to use in all classrooms at Kiddie Kare A’Kademie starting as young as 18 months. Developing their skill levels, in all academic facets, is very important to our current clientel and especially our “Millenial moms and dads.”
Millenials, defined as individuals born between 1977 and 1996, are now well within their baby rearing years. According to The Parents Network, 79% of all first-births and 68% of all births are to Millenial Moms. These new parents have been raised on the internet, email, SMS and IM and quickly adopted Facebook and social networking in their teens or early 20’s.
Statistics Show That:
- This generation places a strong importance on technology – they are more likely to be attracted to those that are creating informational and educational campaigns. Branded services and apps that help them track and monitor their progress toward personal goals.
- 40% of the moms who owned iPhones download apps specifically for their children to use.
- Before turning on the television, picking up the telephone, or flipping through print media, Millenial Moms go online!
- Goal: Provide millenial moms (and dads) with great content and conversations they can access anywhere and anytime.
Using the latest technology at our school and developing our own fun, interesting and user friendly software – is high on our list.
